Abstract

  • The number of poor people in Kalimantan Timur in September 2017 was 218.67 thousand (6.08 percent). In March 2017 as much as 220.17 thousand (6.19 percent), means the number of poor people decreased 1.50 thousand people (down 0.11 percentage points).
  • During March 2017 - September 2017, the poverty line (GK) rose by 2.51 percent, from Rp.548.094 per capita per month in March 2017 to Rp.561.868 per capita per month in September 2017.
  • The period of March 2017 - September 2017, the Poverty Depth Index fell from 0.885 in March 2017 to 0.874 in September 2017. Similarly, the Poverty Severity Index decreased from 0.208 to 0.187 in the same period.
  • In September 2017, the level of population inequality as measured by Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.333. This figure increased by 0.003 points when compared with Gini Ratio in March 2017 which amounted to 0.330.
  • In September 2017, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group was 19.73 percent. This means that the population expenditure is still in the category of low level of inequality.
